Collaborative Object Modelling in Virtual Environments

This page collects some information on a master's project by Mårten Stenius on object and world modelling using multi-user virtual environments. The main part of the work was carried out 1995.

The thesis is available for download in PDF format.

Summary

The main purpose of this work was to study modification of virtual worlds in real time, especially from within a multi-user virtual environment. This involves the implementation of a modeller as well as some user evaluations, and of course a study of existing work in the area.

The work was done at the Interaction and Presentation Lab (IPLab) which is part of the Department of Numerical Analysis and Computing Science (NADA) at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), in Stockholm, Sweden.

My supervisor: Kai-Mikael JääAro.

The studies and programming is closely related to the Distributed Interactive Virtual Environment (DIVE) which is developed at the Swedish Institute of Computer Science (SICS).
